JNE Application Overview
Research Project for Retired JudgesSeeking 2-3 judges to participate in a research project examining judge vs. jury decision making. The research involves a one day (8 hour) session in which judges and jurors will hear case summary presentations and have multiple opportunities to provide feedback. Prior to the research, judges will receive case materials to review that provide the orientation typically presented in pretrial motions. The research is being conducted on Saturday, May 9 at a conference center on the central coast. Judges will be compensated at the rate of $400/hour plus travel expenses. For this study, we are looking for retired state court judges who served in one of the counties in Central California. If you are interested and available to "serve" on May 9, please contact Susan Macpherson for further information.
